Going on a solo trip as a female traveler can be an exhilarating experience, and choosing the right destination is crucial for a worry-free journey. If you’re contemplating a solo escapade, Taipei is your best choice, the vibrant capital of Taiwan. With its unique blend of modernity and tradition, Taipei stands out as a safe haven for solo female travelers.

Welcoming Culture

For solo female travelers, you will find yourselves welcomed with open arms. Locals are approachable, friendly, and ready to assist, making you feel not just like a tourist but a cherished guest in their city.

In 2019, when I first visited Taiwan, I relied on Couchsurfing to meet other travelers. If you’re not familiar with it, Couchsurfing is a mobile app that connects travelers with locals who are willing to host them for free.

It’s similar to a dating app that it allows you to connect with people, but it’s not a dating app. Instead, it’s a platform for the travel community to share experiences and help each other out.

To use Couchsurfing, all you have to do is book and message a local and wait for their confirmation. It’s like Airbnb, but without any payment involved!

Efficient Public Transportation

Getting around Taipei is a breeze, thanks to its efficient and well-connected public transportation system. The MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) system covers the city comprehensively, making it easy for solo travelers to navigate without the stress of figuring out complicated routes.

They showed me around Taipei and even helped me navigate the city’s MRT system and bus route, making it easy for me to hop from one place to another.
