Bali. Just the name makes me think of lush green rice paddies, turquoise waters, and that super chill island vibe.
I booked a flight last year to Bali and went solo traveling again, and let me tell you, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! And the minute I stepped off the plane and that warm, humid air hit me; all my worries vanished.
I spent my days exploring ancient temples, watching people surfing those epic waves (I will soon learn how to surf!), going to the beach almost every day, and indulging in all the delicious food.
But the real highlight? Meeting the most amazing people. I met these two Filipinas, also traveling solo, and we instantly clicked. We spent hours chatting, laughing until our stomachs hurt, and exploring the island together.
We had some epic nights out – dancing at The Finns and Mexicola, enjoying sunset cocktails on the beach in Seminyak, and having the most amazing beach dinners. It was like we were old friends, even though we’d just met!
Those friendships I made in Bali. They’re like treasures I’ll cherish forever.
Also, two of my Highschool friends came to Bali to join me for 5 days. We looked for villas we can sublease because we are planning to open an Airbnb business in Canggu or somewhere in Ubud.
And get this – this year, we’re all going back! We’re a group of nine now, all Bali addicts who can’t get enough of the island. We’re planning to explore new places, dive deeper into the local culture, maybe even try some water sports like stand-up paddleboarding. We’re all so excited to create even more unforgettable memories together.

Tips for Solo Female Travelers in Bali:
- Do your research: Before you go, read up on the places you want to visit and maybe even book a few things in advance, but don’t over-plan!
- Choose your accommodation wisely: Hostels can be great for meeting other travelers, or you could try a guesthouse for a more local feel.
- Safety first: Always be aware of your surroundings, especially at night. Stick to well-lit areas and use ride-hailing apps.
- Embrace the local culture: Learn a few basic Indonesian phrases, try the local food (the Babi Guling is a must-try!), and respect their customs.
- Be open to new experiences: Talk to the locals, chat with other travelers, and say yes to spontaneous adventures. You never know who you’ll meet or what amazing things you’ll discover!
